Dance Theatrics, Barclay Shelton's resident performing company, was formed in 1981 by director Leanne Shelton to give dedicated students of dance the opportunity to perform.  

 

Our Senior Company is made up of experienced dancers in 9th through 12th grade. They are required to be enrolled in Advanced Ballet and Jazz, and most are skilled in tap, modern, hip hop, and lyrical as well.  

 

Our Junior Company is comprised of 5th through 8th graders who are currently enrolled in ballet and jazz with at least two years experience in both genres.  

 

Both groups rehearse a minimum of two hours a week in addition to their technique classes. DanceTheatrics performs in their own showcase every spring as well as in Barclay Shelton's annual recital, the Edmonds Arts Festival, and other local venues.

2023-24 Audition Requirements

Senior Company:

Dancers entering 9-12th grade: enrolled in at least Int./Adv. Jazz and Int./Adv. Ballet for the 2023-2024 season.

Junior Company:

Dancers entering 5-6th grade: enrolled in at least Jazz 2 and Ballet 2 for the 2023-24 season.

Dancers entering 7-8th grade: enrolled in at least Jazz 4 and Ballet 4 for the 2023-24 season.
